Why would you hate people for doing weird things? I personally think the tight jeans are incredibly fruity. But I don't hate based on culture/subculture anything like that. If you're going to hate, hate people, not generalizations.

emo isnt music. emo is short for emotional obviously. its not the look really but a feeling. i would say im emo because i do think of death of myself but i break down crying cuz i dont want it. its not the look really. and it dosnt mean u have to cut urself. i think its a feeling really. but everyone has different opinions.

I'm an "Emo" boy and I dye my hair black. I am always using an iron to straighten but I am going somewhere where I can't use an iron (camp). SO I am planning to use a relaxer.
So please, if you have an answer, ANSWER! =]

I'm a gay guy but I'm a prep :P You CAN bring your flat iron to camp, you need a written statement from your mother stating that you are NOT responsible if anyone gets hurt and you are ALLOWED to bring it to camp. I relax my hair all of the time and I've died it black after. Make sure you RELAX it BEFORE you DYE it. Oh make sure you get some hot emo gay action on the side when your at camp! :P
Every time you process your hair, you do more damage. It's generally best to wait several weeks before doing another process. The 2 things working in your favor are 1: It's an olive oil relaxer (never heard of it, but I'll take your word for it), which is probably very moisturizing, and 2) you're not lightening your hair, which means the color you're using probably has low to no ammonia. But I'd still wait a few weeks if you can. Not having the color you'd like is much more tolerable than broken off bits of black mess.

my hair is long and black too..woo hoO! lol anywyas, i wouldnt wanna get it cut short, unless its pissing u off, try a few shaggy layers, then straighten it flicking the striaghtener up as u get to the end and the end will stay up. looks really cute, that's what i do!
well....it sounds like you have pretty good hair right now. but maybe some scene hair but if that's a little over the top i think that the long side swept bangs (or what ppl call emo hair, but i hate labels) are really awesome looking. just google emo hair on images

Get some colorful clothes, you don't have to go wild with color, just color. Also, you can put some highlights in your hair, not blonde if your hair's dark, but maybe lighter brown or maybe even reddish. Style your hair too. Smile, that will brighten your face up as well as nice makeup and they've got bronzers for your face (don't overdo it, you don't want to look fake and with winter coming up, you don't want to use it then).

Wear your hair up and away from your face. Introduce brighter colours into your wardrobe. Try accessorising your outfits with nice jewellry and stuff. Don't wear dark makeup either.

If I were you, I would dress however makes me happy, but If you really want to NOT look emo, then wear something bright! Don't just do what your friends do, don't follow the crowd! Wear a color like lime green, that's not like a crazy hot pink, but It's not black either. Just wear what makes you feel comfortable! In 7 days no one will even remember what you wore to school anyway.

Just blow 'em off man. I had the same thing happen to me, still do on occasion. They discovered they couldn't call me goth, so they went to emo. I do wear a lot of black, but no dark makeup or dark hair (it's the same color it always was...blond....but it's turning black...naturally) And if it gets to insanity point, just agree with them. That's what I did with the goth thing and stuff (small town...people here hate the color black or the emo and goth styles), and now they're kind of leaving me alone. Good luck. Just be yourself.

First it is important that you disregard what your friends think. You cannot go through life acting as/or dressing as others dictate (unless it is required by your employer).
Second. Dress with a neutral color predominant and some accent item to call attention to your combination. The accent item could be a shiney belt, or a bright blouse, or a scarf worn around the waist. Do not ever mix polka dots with checks, or checks/plads with checks/plads. However, a polkadot blouse with solid black slacks can be very nice. Never be afraid to mix and match. Deflect all clothes criticism with comments about the inappropriate "fit" of the person's clothes who never likes what you wear. Suggest that they are a size 10 trying to wear size 8's and so forth. They will leave you alone.

Forget about those idiots. According to most people these days anyone who wears black or has dark hair or wears black eyeliner must be 'emo'. They're morons. It sounds like you have a really great look, dark hair and pale skin are so 'in' right now. You should keep your friends and just wear what you want - because chances are you'll get put into a category no matter what you wear.
